X3 Editor 2 is program for modifying X3: Reunion, X3: Terran Conflict and X3: Albion Prelude games from Egosoft.

Compatibility

X3 Editor 2 runs on Windows XP, Vista (32/64 bit) and Windows 7 (32/64 bit).


Requirements

X3 Editor 2 requires additional libraries to be installed on your system. They are not part of the installation package to keep the size down. It's likely that you already have some or all of them installed.

.NET 3.5

Microsoft .NET 3.5 must be installed on your system. You need the 32 bit (x86) version even if running on 64 bit Windows.

Visual C++ 2008 runtime

Some libraries require Visual Studio 2008 C++ runtime. The installation package is called Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package. You need the 32 bit (x86) version even if running on 64 bit Windows.

DirectX

To be able to use the 3D Viewer for viewing models, you must have DirectX 9 from June 2008 (or latter).

Note that if you have DirectX 10 or newer (Vista, Windows 7), you still need DX 9 to be installed on your system.
